A little more Tando........

Good Morning to you all,
Whats the weather like where you are?
Its a little cloudy here but the sun is trying to put its hat on!!

I had another excersise boost this morning and went swimming again (50 lengths again), I think I will miss the biking today though as I have too much designing to get done today!

As you know, I have already started to show you the Tando creations that I have been coming up with and I have posted another one for you today that I also made at the spring NEC show for J&C Creations.

This is the Mini House Printer Tray  and is a lovely little project to do and has so many little compartments to add things in to......

The Mini House Printer Tray comprises three layers of the printer front that you glue together and the then the house base layer, plus the stand and can be found  on my website HERE...

I painted it first with acrylic paint and then measured the sections of the printer front out and then cut papers from the Crafts Too Vintage Pad and also used some script music paper. I put a sentiment behind a Vintage Label Plate  and stuck it to the front of the frame with Cosmic Shimmer dies clear glue.

I then added lots of little elements like wooden cotton reels with bakers twine , miniture glass bottles, pearls pins, cog washers, flowers and lace........
I also used script washi tape which I stuck on to thin card to pleat and make a couple of ribbon tails.
I die cut a flower from foiled script velum, shaped and added a pearl brad in the centre.
I also added a cream crochet flower with a pearl brad in the centre.
Let me know what you think?

These are some of the products used and are available on my website HERE or click on the individual items as I have listed them for direct links..........

Well I do hope you like the inspiration that I have posted for you today, have a lovely end to the weekend and I will be back soon with a little more inspiration on some more Tando Creative projects.
I do hope that I have inspired you in a little way......

Enjoy your day,

A little bit of Tando Inspiration.....Tick,Tock!

Afternoon All,
Whoops, missed a day.......where did yesterday go?
I went on a little excersise boost yesterday and went swimming in the morning (50 lengths) and then biking with my Sister in the afternoon for one and a half hours and then shopping!!!!
You know me I don't do things by halves!
By the evening I too shattered to Blog and flopped out.........

Anyway.....
I thought I would let you know that I now have a lot of "Tando Creative Chipboard" in stock and on the website and thought I would bring you a little inspiration with it, over the next week or so.....

Tando do fantastic, affordable chipboard designs that you can alter in anyway you like.
They have a lot of items for the home including wall hangings, key hangers, printer trays, clocks, etc and can be found HERE on my website.......

This is a clock that I made at the NEC show for J&C Creations and the papers that I used are from the Heartfelt Creations pads that J& C have on their website....

The clock is a printer tray clock kit that is 205mm in diameter and comprises of a two part face and the stand, plus the clock hands and complete movement (batteries are not included) and can be found on my website HERE...

I painted it with acryrlic paint and then over-stapped the printer front of the frame with a flower stamp and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and did the same to the stand.
The full circle back section, I covered with one of the Heartfelt Papers and then stuck the printer front on with Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue.
I covered the centre square with some pink cardstock sanded back and then used a sentiment from the pad and roughed the edges with a steel ruler and then matted it on to the pink square.
I then used another sheet of the same paper  to de-coupage the flower layers over the top, adding lastly some stickles for a bit of sparkle.......
Let me know what you think?

You could alter this clock in sooo.... many different ways by simply painting it and then just overstamping the background if you prefer stamping or flitter glue and guilding flakes, embossing an overall background stamp on it or even making a masculine clock, the possibilities are endless......

These are some of the products used and are available on my website HERE.

I will be back soon with a little more inspiration on some more Tando Creative projects.
I do hope that I have inspired you in  a little way......

Enjoy your day,

Pretty Pocket Watch

Hello & happy Wednesday, Kirsten here with my weekly blog post.  Sorry it’s later than I intended, I’ve only just finished this project.  I have turned this post into a little photo tutorial.  The tag tutorial I showed you last week seems to have been quite popular, so Lisa & I thought that maybe I will try to do one each week.

This week I used the the pocket watches from Studio 490 by Wendy Vecchi.  I love Wendy’s work, she creates the most gorgeous embellishments, which can be inked & painted & altered.  She has a terrific stamp range too.  If her name is new to you, I recommend a visit to her blog; http://studio490art.blogspot.co.uk/

You’ll find pictures & links to everything I used at the end of this post.

This is what the watches look like.  They are made of layers of a kraft coloured material, very light, very sturdy & they can be inked, painted, stamped onto, anything you like almost.  Before you do anything with them, I recommend you wipe around the edges with a piece of paper towel, or a soft cloth, to remove the dusty residue caused by the manufacturing process.

I painted mine firstly with a thin layer of Ranger's Snow Cap acrylic paint, this seals your substrate & provides a base for the paint layers to follow.  You could also use gesso.  Then I added three or four thing layers of Ranger’s Shell Pink paint dabber, making sure to dry in between each layer.

I attached a scrap of Graphic 45’s  paper to the base & left it aside to dry.

I put a tiny amount of Indigo Blu’s Flitter Glue on a piece of cut & dry foam & gently tapped it onto the top of the pocket watch, making sure it went on a few areas only, to get a patchy effect.  Then I added the Chariot of Fire gilding flakes on top, pressing them firmly on, then rubbing off the excess.  That done, I set that aside too.

I stamped the quote, (from an Indigo Blu set of the same name) onto shrink plastic, die cut a large circle & used my heat tool to shrink it.  I covered a scrap of white card with Old Paper distress ink & glued it to the back of the plastic.

Now it’s time to put everything together.  I used Cosmic Shimmer glue on everything in this project, except for the brad.  I painted that with the Shell Pink paint, cut off the legs & attached it with silicon glue.

To make sure the two pieces were stuck together I pressed down firmly on them with an acrylic block, then wiped off any excess glue that seeped through.  When it was dry, I painted a few more layers of paint around the outside.  This gives an extra seal & stops the patterned paper being too noticeable.

I didn’t want a lot of embellishments, but I like these little birds & branches from Tando Creative.  So I painted them with Ranger’s Aqua & Willow paint dabbers, coloured the bird's beak with  black Spectrum Noir pen & gave him a black adhesive pearl for an eye.  When both pieces were dry I went over them with my distress ink blending tools, adding a little blue & green.

I added a few Petaloo flowers & here it is, finished.  I haven’t decided what I’ll do with it yet.  It could be a topper on a card, or on another altered piece, or I might add a chain or ribbon so that it can hang somewhere.
