Kanban Christmas; The Snowman

Good morning, Kirsten here.  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  There are - deep breath - 99 days to Christmas and as much as I want too, I can't avoid it any longer.  However, Kanban's new Christmas Collection softens the blow just a little.  It is VERY nice.  I like the images, which are traditional, but are given a contemporary feel by the background colours & the muted blues & greens of the patterned, A4 card.

 

 

 

This is the Woodland Snowman with the pale pink background. It's an A4 sheet of foiled and glittered diecut toppers.

 

 

This is a detail from the snowman card above.  These poinsettias are from an A4 diecut, decoupage sheet & agan, they are glittered and foiled.  They are very striking & are a nice contrast to the muted colours of the rest of the collection.  The snowflake to the left of the poinsettia is a ribbon trim & it's lovely.  It's not on the website yet, but is available, so if you would like a metre, or three, send Lisa an email via the contact page.

 

This is the blue Woodland Snowman.  You can see how the glitter & foiling really shines.

 

This is one of the smaller toppers from the Woodland Snowman sheet.  The patterned card is the Winter Check, which sold out at Lisa's class last week, but is on order & should be in this week some time.  If you click on the product's link below, you can sign up for an email notification, which you'll receive when the restock has arrived.  That way, you don't miss out.

Here Comes The Bride

Hello blog visitors, Kirsten here.  It's Sunday morning & I have a lots to do today, so this will be a brief post.

 

These cards are Lisa's, made with the Hunkydory Wedding Day kit.  The kit comprises of one sheet of foiled die cuts, one A4 foiled accent sheet & one printed A4 sheet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lisa has added ribbons, adhesive pearls, glitter, Petaloo , Mulberry & Flora Doodles flowers to these cards, which gives them lots of dimension & a touch of luxury.

There's usually a wedding happening somewhere at any time during the year, so although this kit is in very pale ones, I'm sure you add colour via Distress inks, (which are translucent) & brighter ribbns, flowers, etc.  If you do use inks, I would make sure to dry them with the quick blast of a heat tool, to ensure they don't get smudged.

In An English Cottage Garden

It's the weekend!  Happy Saturday to everyone.  I've been wanting to show you these samples for a while.  Lisa made them with the very lovely Cottage Garden kits from Hunkydory.

 

There are four kits:

• In The Garden
• My Potted Plants
• Perfect View
• Pansy Pot
 
 

In The Garden, My Potted Plants & Perfect View each contain one A4 glitter-varnished topper sheet & two A4 accent glitter background cards.  The Pansy Pot kit contains four flower pot shaped, glittered card blanks with decoupage & matching envelopes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would love to sit at this window looking out at such a pretty garden.

I love this workbench with the gorgeous array of flowers on top.

Perfect pansy pots!  Adding the baker's twine makes them seem very dimensional.

Oh, I Do Like To Be........

 

Beside the seaside, beside the sea!

 

Good Friday morning to one & all.  Despite, or perhaps because of, the decided chill in the air, I am not ready to let go of the summer just yet, so today I would like to show you the samples Lisa made with the Kanban Beside The Sea collection.  Some of you may remember these from the open day in July, it's taken us from then to get them on the website.

 

If you like seaside images & you haven't used Kanban products before, you need to buy this collection.  There are toppers & sentiments, all die cut.  There is gorgeous patterned A4 card & I really like the curved borders.  Everything is great quality & a high gsm - at least 300.

 

 

Here's an altered box, painted white & then the various images & card layered on top.  The curved pieces on the sides are cut from the Sand Swirls A4 card.

September Class Projects

Good morning, Kirsten here.  I can't believe it's Thursday already, where is the time going?  This morning I would like to show you the card projects made by Lisa's Maidstone class last Friday.  This is something we're going to do each month she holds a class & it will normally be the weekend after.  It's late this month because we were in the middle of Nitwits week.

 

The class made two cards using the new Christmas collection from Kanban, which is available HERE.  It's a lovely collection of A4 patterned card & toppers, some with acetate overlays. 

 

 

 

 

Here is the 8x8 card that was made in the first half of the class.  The snowflake patterned acetate was added after we cut a section from the front of the card.  The acetate is gorgeous & proved so popular it sold out before the end of the first class.  Lisa has ordered more & as soon as it arrives we will let you know.

What shall we buy today??

After a break to enjoy a cuppa & slice of cake, we made an easel card, this time using the acetate overlays.  The acetate has the same design as the topper & when it's attached behnd the topper, it creates a dome, which I thing you can see below.

 

 

There are three different sets of toppers & overlays; Christmas Lights, Christmas Delivery & Christmas Magic.  Again, everyone loved them & at present only the Christmas Magic toppers are available on the website.  More stock has been ordered & we'll let you know as soon as it arrives.  Alternatively, you can add your email address on the website & you will get an immediate notification.

 

For anyone concerned about how to apply the overlays, the toppers come with full instructions.

Nitwits week, final day; Promises

 

 

 

Good morning, happy Wednesday.  Today is the last day of showcasing the Nitwits collection on the blog & we're ending with the eight-piece Promises collection.  It's four sheets of pale blue & lilac toppers & decoupage die cuts & four sheets of patterned papers.  There's still 25% off Nitwits on the website, you can find everything HERE.

 

 

 

These cards really show how the decoupage die cuts layer together.  I like the heart-shaped dragonfly wings, which could be used on different projects.

Nitwits week, bonus day: Bear Necessities

Happy Tuesday!  Today, it's time for the Nitwits bears to take their turn in the spotlight.  Probably like many of us, I had cuddly bears when I was a child, so these images bring back a lot of memories.

 

There are nine seperate items in the Bear Necessities collection; die cuts, toppers, patterned paper & card & as with all Nitwits this week, there is 25% off each item.

 

 

This pale gold bear definitely reminds me of my bear, she's so cute with her pink bow.

This dark brown bear looks great against the blues & pale browns of these cards.  The hearts & stars are all included on the topper & decoupage sheets, so you can make great cards with just those embellishments & some of the papers.
