Imagination Crafts ODS on Hochanda Today!

Hello everyone! A quick scheduled post from me, as I'm in Peterborough, at the Hochanda studios for Imagination Craft's new One Day Special. It's part of Hochanda's '12 Days of Christmas Crafting' event, so we have lots of Christmas themed projects in the shows.

We launched the brand new Starlights paints for textiles last night & I hope lots of you are as excited by them as I am. You can see them on
Hochanda's website right now, as well as all the other products in today's Imagination shows.

Sue & I had fun making a video in Sue's studio to show you the new Starlights & some of the samples for the show, you can see it on Imagination Crafts' Facebook page.

I thought I'd show you today a few of the samples I made for the shows. I used the new Christmas Art Stamps & stencils.....

Vintage Blue

Morning crafters, Julie here, I hope I find you well today.

This week's card uses Imagination Crafts's Rice Paper 319, Sparkle Medium and Starlights.

First I took a 7x7 card blank and decanted some Diamond Sparkle Medium onto my tile, I loaded up my cut 'n' dry and applied to the edge of the card, this doesn't need to be too precise as it's only the edging to the final card. I used scrap paper  underneath so I didn't have to clean my mat!

I then took a piece of super smooth white card and cut it down to 160mm square, I chose rice paper pattern 319 and decided which part I was going to use. I coated the card square with Magi-Bond sticking the rice paper to it. I trimmed down the rice paper leaving a slight overhang which I secured to the back of the card with double sided tape, so I had a nice crisp edge.

This then became my canvas to work on. I chose the That's Crafty Dinky Flight of Butterflies stencil and masked off part of it with masking tape, as I only wanted to use part of this stencil in the top right corner. I used Agean Starlight Paint on my tile and some cut 'n' dry to apply this, then I moved onto the Dinky Reverse Honeycomb stencil and Silver Gold Starlights, applying this in the same way in 3 locations on the right of the card, avoiding the rose and rosebud as these were to be my main feature.

I took some more Diamond Sparkle Medium and applied this to the rose and rosebud with my finger to accentuate these. When the mediums were dry I flipped over my card and measured in 3cm from the left hand side and 7.5cm from the top and an additional 1cm. I then used my big bite to punch these 2 holes (any eyelet setter or a pokey tool and a pricking mat would do the same thing). I was then ready to flip over and attach a blue and white organza ribbons (trying to photograph this wasn't so easy, so I enlisted my sons help). If anyone wants to understand how I threaded the ribbon just ask me at class. I double knotted each ribbon and cut the ends off at angles.

I then mounted the main canvas to my card using double sided tape to make sure it adhered to the sparkle medium edge (I could have used cosmic shimmer but the DST was to hand...) and completed the card with a Hobby House gem on the knot, 4 pearls and some glossy accents on the butterfly to complete the card.

Dutch Doobadoo Flower Frame

Good morning, Kirsten here. Not only is it Monday again, it is also JULY. How did that happen?? My project today is the wooden flower frame shadow box by Dutch Doobadoo & I forgot to take any step by step photos, apologies.

I painted the frame with yellow chalk paint & added scraps of Imagination Crafts Rice Paper 142, adding more paint with a baby wipe to blend in the edges of the rice paper. 

I applied more paint through the Craft Emotions Field Flowers stencil, then stamped the Woodware Small Fennel stamp set with embossing ink & heat set with WOW! British Summer embossing powder.

I used the crackle stamp from the Hobby Art Textures set on the frame, heat setting with WOW! Bluetiful EP.

The wooden embellishments are all from Craft Emotions, I painted them with Starlights & used various WOW! embossing powders with Melt-It in molds from my stash to make the hearts.

Imagination Crafts Clematis Elements

 

Hi there crafters, a different day for me this week.

 

I wanted to use Lisa gorgeous clematis stamp set for this card but still using the rice paper technique on tissue paper.

 

 

 

So I started with my usual 7" x 7" white card then cut a black matt approximately half inch smaller.  I wanted a bit of sparkle on this card too, so I took by wide double sided tape and taped all around the edge of the card then cut some double sided adhesive sheet slightly larger than the corner die I used from my stash, stuck in place then covered with black glitter.

 

 

I then took a piece of white Super Smooth card and cut that approximately half inch small than the black matt.  I ran my corner die though twice once for top left and once for bottom right corners.  I then stuck all the matts together onto the card. (I think the Imagination Crafts Honeycomb Stencil would work just as well for this project)

 

 

Next I took the Imagination Crafts Clematis Elements stamp set and stamped the large image once and the two flower heads twice onto plain white tissue paper.

 

 

I then pasted the images onto to white card and cut out the flower heads ready to decoupage.  I decided to use my honeycomb corner die to randomly cut around the larger image trimming away the holes, before layering onto some black card I had already glittered, then roughly cut around the same shape leaving a very small border.

 

 



 

I used double sided foam on the back of the larger image to place on the card, glued the flower heads in place added a few little black gems and the card was done.  Very quick and easy but I hope you like it and it's given you some inspiration to use Lisa's stamps :o)
