Patchwork Squares

*This post is part of the January promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered
Morning everyone,
I wish you a Happy New Year and do hope you enjoyed a good Christmas break.

I created a Gelli Plate background with Adirondack ink pads in Wild Plum and Sunshine Yellow, using a brayer to blend the colours and the same stamp sets to add interest on the background.
I didn't ink the stamps or use an acrylic block, I simply stamped them directly onto the brayered ink gelli plate.

Next I cut the background into 5cm squares and stamped the faux stitching using a
I then stamped the various images and textures using both stamp sets.
The base card is a folded piece of A4 Kraft card.
Next I cut squares of Hessian and Cheesecloth material to layer the squares onto before mounting onto the card.
I finished with various buttons, threads and a ribbon bow creating a card for any ocassion.

Don't forget to comment to be entered into the giveaway & most importantly, remember to check the MEGA SALE on the website, there are plenty of bargains to be had, but things are selling out fast.

Thanks for reading my post today,

Wonderful day......

*This post is part of the January promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.*
Good morning bloggers,
How are we all today, recovering from Christmas and New Year I hope.......
Have you made any New Year resolutions?
I know that I hope to have more time to play this year.... all work and no play makes Lisa a boring girl!!!
No seriously I want to work on more art based projects this year and hold some smaller classes at a new venue.  They will be all day classes with me, doing much more altered, technique based projects...... Something that we can really get our hands into and get mucky!!!
I will announce details nearer to the times and there will be lunch supplied too and lots of usual fun as well.......
Well, on to today....
As you know by now we are focusing on the lovely Hobby Art stamps this month and we have a fantastic giveaway HERE, as well as that I have done a special on the website of 30% OFF regular Hobby Art Stamps HERE and there is also 40% OFF Christmas Hobby Art Stamps HERE.......
I thought that I would start off by showing you a couple of cards that I made for Hobby Art last year using the Wonderful Day stamp set. This is a relatively new stamp from Hobby Art, so at the promotion price of £6.99 it is an absolute bargain and all the promotion stamps are whilst stocks last this month too.......

This stamp set is so pretty and can be used for so many occasions, I really fancied making the flower in to a lilac so this is what I made......

I apologise that the pictures are not quite as clear as I would normally show you, however I didn't take them and the cards were sent off but you can see the effect.....

I attached two of the main flower stems to an acrylic block and stamped the images on to super smooth card with versafine ink and then embossed with Wow clear embossing powder. I did the same with the flourish corner and stamped top and bottom as shown.
I then used my Pro-markers to colour in the images and then added a little dusky concord Distress Ink around the edges with a blending tool.
I did the same with the message and outer border and then matt and layered both pieces on to black card and then lilac.......

I used Anna Marie Designs dottie lavender lace card for the background border with a ribbon wrap around and then assembled the card adding some rhinestone sparklers......
I enjoyed making the first card and fancied creating a border on the next card so this time I cut a border from super smooth card and then using the flowers and leaves from the stamp set I inked them this time with Versacolor Bamboo ink and then embossed them all like before so that there was no stark black outline and again I coloured them with Pro-markers.....

I inked the outer frame for the message in Bamboo and used Versacolor Heliotrope for the message.

As before, I used Anna Marie Designs dottie lavender lace card for the background border and matting layer for the message and then assembled the card adding some rhinestone sparklers......
I hope that you have enjoyed my little inspiration for today and I will be back soon....

Have a great week....
Hugs Lisa B xx

Just For You - CAS

*This post is part of the January promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.*

Good morning, I hope everyone's ok. I took a break from crafting over the Christmas & I think it's because of that that I really struggled to come up with ideas for this month on the blog - ideas that weren't Christmas cards, that is. I could have made dozens more of them. :)

So, my first two cards are REALLY simple. No fancy techniques, no layers. Here's the first one.......

I used one of the stamps from the Hobby Art Decorative Backgrounds set, inking it Split Pea Versacolor ink & using first & second generation stamping. The large seedhead from
Anna's Collection - Just For You was stamped with Boysenberry Versacolor & the sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped with
Black Versacolor. I then added the bee, stamped with gold ink.

(The Hobby Art stamps are currently on special offer on the website - 30% off)

I made a top folding card & used a piece of Citrine card from Anna Marie Designs as an in between layer.

The second card is just as simple.............

It's another top folding card, I stamped another of the HA Decorative Background stamps onto the sides with Black Versacolor. I die cut three circles in the white card, stamped three different images from the Anna's Collection - Just For You set onto smaller white circles with old ink & attached another piece of Citrine to the back. I finished with the sentiment & a white adhesive pearl.

And that's it for today. I shall be back on Friday, when I will - hopefully - have something a little more involved to show you.

Don't forget to comment to be entered into the giveaway & most importantly, remember to check the MEGA SALE on the website, there are plenty of bargains to be had, but things are selling out fast.

Happy New Year!!

*Scheduled post.*

Happy New Year to one & all!! I hope you celebrated the arrival of 2015 in style & are not feeling too delicate today.

Here's a quick card I made................

The background was made with Inkadinks again. This time painted in strips on watercolour card & splattered with lots of Gold Brocade Silkies mixed with water. I also lightly brayered Gold Shine Sparkle Medium around the edge of the card.............

I brayered more Sparkle Medium onto scrap card - Lapis Blue, Soft Purple & Diamond - and die cut the stars once it was dry.  The greeting was stamped with the Hobby Art Alphabet Typed clear stamp set & I found the sequins in my stash..................
