Paper Pieced Robin

*This post is part of the October promotion fortnight. Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway.*

Good morning crafters, happy Tuesday. I'm starting my October blog posts with two cards I made using the Patch Robin stamp from Woodware Clear Magic collection, the same one the ladies used in last Friday's classes.

I started by stamping the image with Onyx Black Versafine ink onto a piece of the Aqua Flakes A4 card from Hobby House, then stamping again onto various pieces of kraft & patterned paper & cutting out the various elements.............

I used various Christmas themed patterned papers .........

The finished card again, with added Bright Red Sparkle Medium & Diamond Sparkle Medium.......

For the second card I used different patterned papers & added the border with a black fine liner pen..............

Thanks for looking & don't forget to leave a comment if you want to be entered in the giveaway. I'll be back with more paper pieced cards on Sunday.

October Promotion & Giveaway

Good morning, Kirsten here. It's the start of a new week & the start of a new promotion fortnight on the Lisa B Designs Inspiration blog. This time we are focusing mostly on the Christmas themed stamps from

As always, there is a prize for one lucky commenter..............

I used this stamp on many of my projects & it's really nice. The paper pad was hugely popular at Friday's classes. It has a great variety of Christmas patterns & colours & it's also slightly textured. And you can stamp on it & get a very clear image - I found Versafine ink worked best.

So, the rules for the giveaway are as follows............

You must leave one comment on EVERY blog post - including this one -  in the next two weeks from today, October 6, to the final post on October 19.

You can make your comment at any time as long as it's before the midnight deadline on Sunday, October 19.

**Entries are restricted to UK residents only.**

The winner will be chosen by a random number generator & announced here on Monday, October 20.

So, if you don't want to miss out, make a note on your calendar, sign up for email notifications, follow us on Facebook & Twitter & post those comments.

October Class in Maidstone

Good afternoon blog visitors, happy Saturday. It would appear that the fine weather has ended. I spent four hours working in the garden earlier, before the rain started. I dug up & moved all the Crocosmia 'Lucifer' & planted lots of alium bulbs. There's still lots to do before Winter sets in, so I'm hoping for a few more dry weekends.

So, yesterday was the Lisa B Designs monthly class in Maidstone. As Lisa was on her way to Liverpool, where she spent today demoing for Imagination Crafts at the Happy Stampers show, she asked me if I would run the classes, with Jan, Rosemary, Kate & Jo assisting.

There's no avoiding it now, Christmas is definitely on its way, so it was time to make a start on our Christmas cards. We kept the two projects simple, just paper piecing with a little embossing & embellishing with glitter etc.....................

Everyone settled down to their cutting out - each person had thirteen pieces to cut over the two cards.

Most of the ladies had done paper piecing before, so it wasn't a new technique, but it was a relaxing class, with plenty of time to chat & peruse the new Christmas items that we had to tempt them.........

There were also plenty of samples from the DT to provide inspiration. These are some of Karen's & Jan's. You'll see these & the rest here on the blog in the coming weeks.........

Some of the ladies from the evening class having a chat............

Before we knew it, the day was over. Hard to believe there are only two more classes left this year. November's class will involve Sparkle Medium, stencils & acetate. We will try to have the samples ready to show you here & on Facebook soon. Lisa will be away at the NEC in Birmingham, demoing for Imagination Crafts, so once again I will be running the class.

PLEASE NOTE: we had a number of sell-outs yesterday, including this stamp set from Woodware, so the details on the website are incorrect. We will get everything updated on Monday,

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday. I really appreciate your kindness & patience. Thank you also to Jo, Kate, Rosemary & Jan for their hard work & support. Thanks also to Lisa's hubby, Paul, for his help with setting up & taking down.  And last but by no means least, a huge thank you to Lisa for trusting me with her 'baby'. I hope I didn't let her down.

The current blog challenge ends tonight at 11pm, so I will be back tomorrow with a new challenge & the winner of the crackle medium one.

Until then, enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

Just thinking of you

Hi! It's Georgina with my Friday post. I have a card to share with you today using the pretty Woodware Going to seed clear magic stamp available from Lisa B Designs. I have also used a strip of crackle backgrounds which I made a few weeks ago using Crackle Medium. If you pop over to my blog post here you can see how I create the crackle effect.

To make this card I started by stamping the Going to See stamp onto the crackle background with a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. I then heat embossed it with WOW Ebony embossing powder. I attached this strip to a 5x5" kraft card blank. I then stamped the sentiment which is also included with the Going to Seed stamp set, and the grasses again with the Versafine ink pad. To finish the card I also stamped the grasses onto the front of the kraft envelope.

Board Book and Crackle

Morning,
This is the last of my crackle projects and actually was my first attempt on this
I wasn't too happy with the result so put it aside until I'd decided what to do with it.
It was a product that was new to me so I needed to practise using it.
With this first result I didn't achieve a good crackle due to not applying the paint or
Also I learnt not to try and recover the area I had first applied.
Anyhow I ended up with a good distressed background all be it not the crackle I was hoping for.

I then used a selection of stencils, mainly from The Crafters Workshop with distress inks and random stamping just using the
Penny Black Slapstick Fanciful stamp without an acrylic block.

Futher interest was created by adding scrim, tiny beads, metal key, seam binding coloured with distress ink and some sparkly fibres.

All in all I think this turned out to be a good result and I hope you like it too.

Collaged Layers

Hello blog visitors, happy Wednesday & happy October 1st. Here is my final project for September & it is another card made with the Anna Marie Designs Vintage Print card stock.............

I used the white sheet from the pack (the same sheet that I used on this crackle medium project) & covered it various distress inks. Then I used a piece of Cut & Dry foam to apply embossing ink through the TCW Harlequin stencil here & there, before heat setting with white embossing powder ...........

To finish the card I used the Artemio Butterfly Collage stamp set. The images were stamped with Onyx Black Versafine, heat set with clear EP & coloured with distress inks & Silkies paints..........

I added a black gingham ribbon wraparound as an embellishment...........

And that's it from me for a few days.  I will hopefully be back here on Saturday with a review of Friday's classes in Maidstone.

Until then, happy crafting.
