Thinking of you

Hi! It's Georgina with my regular Thursday post.
Today I have a card to share with you. A simple card when you just need to say I'm thinking of you.

I used Imagination Tulips stamp set for this card which are 25% OFF at Lisa.B.Designs. Both the tulips and wording are part of the same stamp set. I started by stamping the tulip image onto green and dark pink card using a Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad. I stamped the tulip flower three times and the leaves once of to green and once onto dark green. I used the dark green for the stems. I cut out all the layers.

On a 119x119 white card blank I drew a square with a pencil. I used a square metal die as a template. I then drew a square shape as shown below with a black fineliner. I stamped the wording in the bottom right corner of the square, again with the Memento ink pad.

I attached the green sections of the tulip flat onto the card. I then added the tulip flower heads with foam pads. Onto both flower heads I added added a petal with just glue rather than foam pads as this gave a different, more subtle, level.

Vogue Times Four

Hello crafters, Kirsten here. Is everyone getting back to normal after the Christmas & New Year festivities? Strangely, it seems a long time ago already. I’ve got four quick cards to show you today, all made with the new Craftwork Cards collection, Vogue (still 10% off).

I cut & scored a piece of acetate for the front of this card, putting the sentiment on the acetate & adding a die cut circle of matching paper on the reverse to hide the dst.

002

An offcut of patterned paper on black card & edged with gold diamond mesh. I added some gold liquid pearls as accents.

001

This is a kraft card blank. I die cut the frame & dry embossed the top layer, then I decided to cut another frame, leaving it plain. I added some Platinum stickles to the peacock’s feathers.

005

I thought the black & gold papers in the collection would work for men’s cards, so I came up with this one, adding scraps of bakers’ twine to the buttons & some faux stitching around the borders.

Vogue Collection  1/2 metre of gold Diamond Mesh  Liquid Pearls - Gold Pearl  Glitter Glue - Platinum  A4 Acetate Sheets - Extra Thick   2mm Bakers Twine - Gold & Ivory  Lattice - 6" x 6" Embossing Folder

(There's still 10% off many items on the website, if you haven't already seen the offers.)

With these collections I find it quite difficult to add lots of layers & embellishments, which, given that I’m by nature a ‘throw everything & the kitchen sink at it’ crafter, is curious. I think it’s because I like the designs & images to speak for themselves. Anyway, thanks for looking, see you next time

Happy crafting.

Kirsten.

Tulips

Happy New Year!
I hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year. It's Georgina here back with my regular Thursday posts.

I have a card to share with you today using the lovely Imagination Tulip stamp available from Lisa B. Designs. Which is 25% OFF at the moment.

To make this card I started my stamping the Tulip image onto smooth white card with a Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad. I coloured the stamped image with ProMarkers. Once coloured I cut the image into four equal sized squares. I mounted these onto four square of brown card, as shown below.

I used the 'With Love' stamp, also part of the Tulip stamp set, to decorate the card blank. I used Walnut Stain Distress ink pad to stamp the wording. The card blank I used was a Craftwork Cards 148x148mm white card blank

I added white faux stitching around each square before adding to the card blank. I added the squares with foam pads.

Happy New Year!

Good morning, Kirsten here, wishing each & everyone of you a very Happy New Year.  It’s time for a new challenge, the details of which are on the challenge page & here is the winner of the December challenge………..

008

Congratulations to Mags!

Please contact Lisa at lisabaker1@btinternet.com & she will organise your voucher code.

All the Christmas crafting items have been put away & I’ve finally had a chance to play with the new ‘Vogue’ collection from Craftwork Cards & very nice it is too. I used one of the full sheets for this calendar, matting it on to black card. The dress form is also from the Vogue collection, I added the gold mesh & a scrap of velvet ribbon that I found in my stash.

I cut the flowers from another piece of the paper & attached them with foam pads & added Platinum stickles in the centres.

003

The gold diamond mesh adds a lovely accent to pieces & I also used it as the chain to hang the calendar with.

001

I made a second calendar & you can see it on the challenge page.
