The Lovely Butterflies Stamp from Hobby Art.........

Good morning all,

Apologies but I nearly forgot to post today, I have been sooo busy with DT work and getting ready for my men's class on Friday!!

Well I thought I would show you today some more of the samples that I made for Hobby Art for their Create and Craft show last week. these samples were using the gorgeous new Butterlies Stamp which I have to say I absolutely love........

The first one is my favourite thing at the moment which is the open picture frame.......

Add caption
I love butterflies anyway but really enjoyed creating this piece. I also used the Silhouette Grasses stamp which I love equally too......

It was great to try and create different looks using the same two stamps, this was a little 6" x 6" wall hanging in sepia colours. I added some velum butterflies to it.......

Again with a little clever masking another totally different look. I also used the Script Wording Stamp and the Alphabet Typed Stamp to spell the words dream.......

Again a different look this time but much cleaner and fresh looking, it is amazing how many looks you can get from these stamps.......

For the last one an inked, resisted look..........

All of the stamps are now in stock and on the website and can be found HERE or by clicking on the individual items highlighted........

If you have enjoyed seeing these and want to follow any more of my designs for Hobby Art you can always pop over and have a look at my Pinterest board HERE and follow it if you wish to or any other design boards......

Well that is all from me for now, I will see a lot of you on Friday.....

Big hugs Lisa.B. xx

Sizzix Birdhouse, part two

Hello crafters,
Kirsten here again to show the completed birdhouse, which I began in yesterday’s post.

Again, this die is not on the website, but you can order it from Lisa, either by email; lisabaker1@btinternet.com or telephone her on 01622 65078. The price of the die is £28.00 plus £3.50 P+P.

I stuck the house together with a combination of the strongest double-sided tape I have & a strong, fast-acting glue. It folds together very easily, the fold lines are pre-scored for you. It took me a few minutes to decide how to attach the roof, In the end I stuck three thin strips of card on each side to the underneath with dst, placed the roof on top of the house with the strips hanging down on the inside & stuck them to the inside from underneath the house. I’m sorry there’s no photo, I completely forgot to take any of this. If anyone wants to see what I’m describing, let me know & I’ll add some photos, using another roof.

I remembered seeing a project decorated with wire & paper flowers somewhere & that inspired me to do the same here. I wish I could remember what the project was & where I saw it. Someone who sees this might be able to help jog my memory.

Before I glued the house together I made two tiny holes for the wire & stuck it to the inside, then wound it around the outside.

I used hot glue to attach the flowers & butterflies to the wire.

The base is a piece of foam board, which I painted black & scraped on Antique Bronze Sparkle Medium with a palette knife.

The centres of the flowers got tiny dabs of Patina Stickles & that’s it.

Thanks for looking. Don’t forget the blog challenge will end on Saturday, May 3 at 11pm. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you at the classes in Maidstone on Friday & I'll be back here on Sunday with a new challenge.

Sizzix Birdhouse, part one

Hello crafters, Kirsten here, hope everyone is well.

I think this is the final project, where I’ve used mainly Card-io stamps. This time I used them to decorate a Sizzix die cut birdhouse. This die is not on the website, but you can order it from Lisa, either by email; lisabaker1@btinternet.com or telephone her on 01622 65078.
The price of the die is £28.00 plus £3.50 P+P.

This is what the pieces look like when they’ve been die cut. I added pieces of scrap card to the insides to strengthen them , because I knew I was adding a lot of paint to the outside.

006

These are branches from the Greenery 1 set of Card-io Collection stamps, stamped with Versamark & heat set with WOW Clear Gloss embossing powder. This is to add interest to the background.

008

I used Martha Stewart acrylic paints for colour, starting with Summer Linen & continuing with Hailstorm, Sea Lavender &. I used tiny amounts, applying with my finger, knocking back with a baby wipe & drying in between layers until I was happy.

010

More stamping with Greenery 1 & Sweet Birdhouse stamps. I used Versacolor inks; Bamboo & Neptune & this time I heat set them with clear EP. Pigment inks, such as Versacolor, will not dry on acrylic paint, so you have to heat emboss if you want them images to remain on your project.

012

For the roof, I first dry embossed it with the Embossalicious Lattice embossing folder.

014

Next, I applied Antique Bronze Sparkle Medium through the Glitz Craft Hex Bubble stencil.

015

I applied black Versacolor ink with my finger to create an aged effect.

016

I then had to decide how I was going to decorate the birdhouse, so I stamped lots of flowers from the Sweet Birdhouse set & butterflies from the Flutterby Garden set with Neptune, Turquoise & Atlantic Versacolor inks onto scrap white card & cut them all out. That took a while............. :)

I shall be back tomorrow to show you the finished birdhouse.

My Hobby Art Class Projects......

Good morning to you all,
I do hope that you are having a lovely relaxing weekend....

I was doing a repeat workshop in Tadworth yesterday for my lovely friend Jenny Mayes over at Hobby Art and as it is the last workshop for these projects I thought that I would share them with you...

The first project that the ladies made with me was the open picture frame. The stamps that they used were Bird Song and Floral Greetings......

When I made the original samples I stamped the over flowers on Anna Marie Designs Aquamarine Dottie card using a black Versafine ink pad and then embossed with clear Wow sparkle powder......
However on the day the ladies stamped with Black Memento as we were limited for time with them also doing three projects with Jenny as well......

A closer look at the details......

I love the birdsong stamp set, it is one of my favourites......

The second project that they made was a card using the Floral Bird House and Floral Greetings......

The two stamps work so great together......

And of course they had to do the inside.....

Well that is all from me for now, keep leaving your comments on the blog posts as we really love to hear what you think....

See you soon...

Hugs Lisa.B.x

Stampendous Flower Fields.......

Good morning,
Wishing you all a great weekend.......

I have a card to show you today using the lovely Stampendous Flower Fields stamp.......

I started by Stamping the image using vintage sepia versafine ink on to a sheet from the gorgeous Teresa Collins 8" x 8" paper pad (my favourite pad at the moment it had lovely titchy prints in it ) this paper is a teal green script - scrumptious! I cut my paper down as the finished card is 7" x 7".
I coloured the leaves with green pro markers.......

Then I took a coordinating paper from the pad in brown and then stamped the flowers again three times......
I cut away several layers and de-coupaged them on top of the flowers.........

I used Anna Marie Designs Striped Café Latte card to add a border  and matching messages and then cut some tails from the card and matching paper to pop under the message......

I finished off by die-cutting a Sue Wilson Filigree 3D bow out of white card and making up and adding to the border.......

I love these colours, let me know what you think.......

I will be back tomorrow with my reveal of the projects that I am teaching again today up in Tadworth for Hobby Art.....

Until then, have a great day....
