Mica Snow...

Hi everyone,

Following on from last week I had a think about what else I could do with the
I had a play around and had a disaster with my first card, I really didn't like it at all
(and I'm not showing it to anyone!!)
With a bit more thought, I decided to get out my  Iridescent Mica powders which I bought a while back
They've been stashed away gathering dust
So here it is....

You can see that I have only used the 'O' from the stamp
It was a little fiddly, but I applied Versamark Ink to the stamp and used some post it notes to mask around the edge of the 'O' so that only the snowflake was visible
I stamped the snowflake onto a die cut scalloped circle of black card
I then applied some vibrant blue mica powder with a soft paint brush

I cut another scalloped circle in white card and attached it behind the black circle
I attached a Hobby House rhinestone to the centre of the snowflake and matted it onto square of black card and also some scrap blue dotty card from my stash

The background is created using the same technique with the

I used Stardust Stickles Glitter Glue  to create sparkly bits
I've been reliably informed by Lisa B that you can seal the Mica powder design by giving it a light spray with some very cheap hairspray (quality hairspray will not do the job)

After three weeks of snow,  I'm all snowed out.  I think I might move on to something else

See you next week
