Hi! It's Georgina with my Thursday post.

 Today I have a decorated tray to share with you.

To make the tray I started by cutting or tearing images, as shown below, from Graphic45 Quote Unquote, Before Time and Glimpse of Paris 12x12 papers.

On the Eiffel Tower image I stamped the Postmark stamp with VersaMark ink pad and heat embossed it with WOW Ebony embossing powder. On the large panel I distress the edges with Walnut Stain Distress ink. I then stamped the Dictionary meanings stamp onto it before embossing it with a Crackle embossing folder.

I painted the tray with brown acrylic paint. Once dry I attached the large image and clocks inside the tray as show below.

I also added more clocks from the Before Time paper, buttons, a Buckle slider and a clock charm inside the tray.  To finish I added the Eiffel Powder image, sentiment and words to the front of the tray.

    

   

   

      

Class Sneak Peaks......

It is a quick one from me today I am afraid as my workshop is looming up quickly (this Friday) and I still have so much to do.......I have been so busy making samples this week that I have nothing new to show you today as everything I have been working on is for my class on Friday and other secret DT stuff that is not out yet so I can't show you :0( ......

Soo I thought that I would give you a little taster of what is in store for all of you attending my workshop but also my lovely blog followers, to what we have coming up in the next Lavinia Stamps fortnight give-away which starts on Monday and out new Lavinia Blog Challenge that starts on Sunday......

We are playing with the new Lavinia Zen Stamps at the class and I know that you are going to love the new techniques with the New Silkies......

Well I am sorry bloggers but I have to dash and get back in to the studio, I will be back on Saturday with the flower petal tutorial that I promised you.....all the new items on the website will be updated on Monday as I have a really busy weekend and have to add the totals in after the class.....

I am popping up to the Craft Barn Extravaganza on Saturday, I love going to it , they put on such an inspirational day and I usually spend too much, lol......but I do get chance to catch up with my crafting buddies.

For The Birds

Good morning crafters, Kirsten here with my final post of the May term.
 (Yes, I know it's June now, but you know what I mean). Next week it will be all change on the blog as we start a new promotion & a new challenge. Before that though, here's my project.

 

 

I made this card back in early April & unfortunately there's a lot about it I've forgotten, but I will do my best to remember as much as I can.

 

As you can see, I die cut a circle from the centre of white card stock & used distress inks - Pumice Stone I think & definitely Crushed Olive - through the Imagination Crafts Diamonds stencil & the Glitz Craft Hex Bubble stencil.

 

 

 

 

I masked off an area top & bottom & stamped the flourish stamp from the Indigo Blu

Discover Your Passion set with Jet Black Archival ink.

 

 

 

The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that I got black ink lines beside some of the flourishes, where I applied too much pressure. Rather than redo the entire card, I decided to make them part of the background..........

 

 

 

I put some black ink on to the craft sheet & used an old gift card to make lines on the card & the Kaisercraft Cardamom patterned paper......... 

 

 

 

 

I layered the two pieces on to another piece of the same Kaisercraft paper, but the reverse this time, in preparation for the focal image, which was to be the Kaisercraft bird cage.

 

 

 

 

This was the very first time I had used the foil transfer sheets with embossing ink & Stamp & Bond & I had all my toes crossed (fingers were busy, obviously) that I wouldn't mess it up. Luckily, it worked perfectly.

 

 

 

I added the greeting from the Hobby Art Musical Print stamp set........

 

I mixed some water with Weathered Wood distress ink & made splatters on the card with a paintbrush.

 

A Hobby House pearl brad & some adhesive pearls & a scrap of seam binding to finish & everything was attached to a 7x7" white card blank. (Lisa sells these card blanks at the class shop & they are such good quality. I find I'm using them most of the time).

DL Times Two

 

 

 

Hello crafters, Kirsten here.
 Happy Monday to you all, I hope you had a nice weekend. I have two cards to show you today, both very simple. It occurred to me while I was making the samples for this month's blog posts that I hadn't used DL size card blanks in a very long while, so I've used a few & discovered that I quite like them.

 

You might remember this photo from my blog post last Tuesday. It was the left over paint on the TCW doily stencil I'd used for the first layer of my background.

 

 

 

I added more left over paint (splatters of MS Hailstorm), followed by stamping of the
 Kaisercraft crackle stamp with a permanent orange ink. To finish, I added an inspirational quote, stamped with the HobbyArt Alphabet Typed clear stamp set & black Archival ink.

 

 

For the second DL card I randomly stamped one of the branches from the Card-io Collection Greenery 1 stamp set with Weathered Wood distress ink & applied Chartreuse Sparkle Medium through the That Special Touch Daisy Silhouette stencil on top.

 

 

While the Sparkle Medium was drying I stamped the Card-io Collection branch on to another piece of white card with WW distress ink, stamped the Kaisercraft bird cage on top with embossing ink & after heat setting the Stamp & Bond powder, covered it with a blue/grey sheet of transfer foil.
 

 

 

From the same piece I die cut the label, which I layered on to black card & I finished the card with grey ribbon from my stash & a Hobby House pearl brad.

Isn't it lovely that the sun has returned?
I hope that you are enjoying your weekend and are taking time out with your loved ones.......
