Lisa B Designs Classes.......

Good morning my lovelies,

So sorry that I have not blogged too much lately, I have been really busy travelling up and down the country doing TV shows with Imagination Crafts on Hochanda and last weekend was demonstrating at Happy Stampers, Liverpool for them too.....wow what a busy day......
Thank you to soooo many of the lovely people that came up and told me how much they enjoyed my demo's on Hochanda and that you are loving all the products that Harvey, Sue and I are bringing to you. It makes such a difference when you tell us and thank you for all your support, we really appreciate it.......

Thank you also to my lovely right hand mate, Kirsten for running my workshop on Friday. You really are a star honey and I hope that you all enjoyed the class as she worked really hard along with Rosemary, Jan, Julie and Jo.....

Below are a couple of the samples that I made for the class using Wow Powders and I will go in to more depth of how I created them next week.....

As you all know next months class will be on 3rd June and we will be doing something a little different.....
We will be making either an altered bottle, box or two rice paper cards ( one of which will be an acetate tuck in card ), similar to what I have made on Hochanda.

If you are booked in for the class and for whatever reason did not make it to this months class, can you please contact me to let me know which you would like to make.
Also if you wish to attend the class next month then there are spaces at the moment and you can contact me on: 01622 675078 or email me at : lisabaker1@btinternet.com

Below are some samples that the makes will be based on, there will be variants on the day, using all different rice papers.......

Well that is all from me for now, have a lovely week and let's hope that the sunshine comes back again soon......

Thanks for stopping by......

Love and hugs
Lisa B xx

Red Poppy

Hi there crafters, thank you for dropping by the blog today, I hope you've all been out enjoying this lovely weather.

This weeks blog is poppy based again, and nice and simple.

So I took a 6" x 6" card and matted it with black card then silver card, then a smaller layer of white super smooth which I stamped the Stampendous Vintage Contact stamp through the Imagination Crafts Bubble Stencil using Memento Tuxedo Black ...............

...............to create this background

I then stamped the Woodware Field of Poppies Stamp onto Super Smooth Card twice. I painted the Poppies on one of the images using Post Box Red Dylusions paint.  I cut around the first layer and mounted onto matt silver card then just cut around to create an edging before matting onto black card.

Then coloured in the second image in the same way before cutting out the poppy heads and mounted onto the first image using mounting foam.

I finished off by mounting the layers up and felt that was all it needed.  I hope the like this simple little card.  Look forward to seeing you this month workshop :o)
Love Jan -x-

May Newsletter

Hello! Welcome to the May newsletter, I hope you're well & had a nice April. I'm sure that, like me, you're longing for some warmer weather, it has been so cold. It has been lovely to have some sunshine today.

I got back from Peterborough on Sunday, following the latest Imagination Crafts One Day Special on Hochanda on Friday & Saturday. Yet again, it was a very successful few days, the feedback on the new stencils & the MDF storage was very positive & it was very exciting to have the ODS sell out so quickly. Thank you to everyone who purchased from Hochanda. I will be getting the new stencils from Imagination as soon as they become generally available.

I've also been working on projects for the May class, which is this coming Friday, May 6. I'm going to be travelling to Liverpool on Friday, to demo for Imagination Crafts at the Happy Stampers show at Port Sunlight on Saturday, so Kirsten will be teaching the class, ably assisted by Jan, Rose, Julie & Jo. The class projects will be two cards made with the new WOW! embossing powders & glitters. If you haven't seen the gorgeous colours now available, click HERE to see them on the website.

I have added lots of new stencils to the website, fromClaritystamp & That's Crafty. Lots of you will be familiar with Clarity's gorgeous stencils & I'm delighted to be stocking them at last.............

The stencils from That's Crafty are fantastic too. They're approximately 8.5x11.9cm, so they're perfect for adding small areas of detail to your projects...........

I've also added some of That's Crafty white/greyboards surfaces, which are great for inking, stamping, painting etc.........

Other new items include a selection of cutting dies from Craft Emotions. These really are nice & they're ideal for smaller projects - they'd work very well with the That's Crafty Dinky stencils too.

All the recently added items can be seen in the What's New section.

As I said above, the May class projects will be made with WOW! embossing powders & glitters, as well as Distress inks. Here are sneak peeks of a few of my samples............

It would be very helpful if you could bring the following with you;

Heat tool
Versamark ink/embossing ink
Versamark embossing pen/Fine detail embossing pen, eg WOW!
A fine detail paintbrush

**Please ensure your items are labelled with your name/initials.**

There are a few places left in both classes; 2.30 - 5.30 & 6.30 to 9.30. The cost of the class is £16. This includes two projects, your class kit & complimentary tea/coffee & cake. To book your place, you can contact me via email; lisabaker1@btinternet.com, telephone; 01622 675078, or message the Lisa B Designs Facebook page.

As always, the mobile shop will be open from 2.30 to 9.30pm on Friday. You can, if you prefer, order through the website - no later than 8pm on Thursday night, please - and Kirsten will bring your goods with her on Friday.

**Remember to bring your loyalty cards & cameras, if you would like to take photos of any of our samples.**

That's all the news from me for now.
Hope you have a great May - with warmer weather! I'll be back with the next newsletter in early June.

Celtic Dreams Fauna & Dylusions Paint

Morning all, here we are at another Monday & two more of my Celtic Dreams cards to show you. I used the Fauna cutting die for both cards...............

The background for this card was Squeezed Orange & Postbox Red Dylusions paint through the Craft Emotions Botanical Leaves stencil, then Lemon Zest Dylusions through the
CE Background Floral stencil. I also added White Linen through the TCW Mini Tiny Circles stencil...........

I cut the Fauna die as you see here, from black card & from white card painted with Mediterranean Sky & Antique Gold Starlights. I used one of the die cuts as a template for the wing, which is white card painted with Blue Starlights................

I cut away pieces of the light blue die cut, then layered everything together, matting & layering with black card & card painted with Blue Starlights on a 6x6 white car blank.............

The second is similar, with a background of Fresh Lime, Cut Grass & Lemon Zest Dylusions through the Botanical Leaves stencil. I die cut pieces of white & black card & white painted with a mix of Med. Sky & Silver Starlights & applied Diamond Sparkle Medium to the body...........
