Textured Wedding

Hi Crafters, hope you are all well.  I'm actually still on holiday at the moment, well not at work anyway :o)  Shame the weather has turned a bit rubbish, still enjoying the relaxation time though.

This weeks card has a wedding theme but still with a hint of the texture we learned at the July workshop.

This one took a while as I made quite a few little flowers and layered elements to get the affect.

First I took a 7 x 7 card and rounded off the corners then layered some silver paper from my stash.  For the background I embossed a piece of card with an embossing folder also from my stash.  I then took some wedding silhouette figures, in both black and white and embossed one white between two sheets of copy paper to stop the silhouettes from cracking.  (Lisa has these  silhouettes at the workshops if they didn't sell out at the Extravaganza day of course)  I then cut away the male figure in black and stuck it over the white then stuck that onto another white set to give dimension.   (At this point I went around the edges of the male where you could see the white and coloured it with a fine black marker)

I then set about making a few little flowers either by quilling or die cutting, I also die cut a few hearts in various sizes.   I made the larger flowers with the Sue Wilson Classic Rose die, (unfortunately sold out on the website)

Here are the elements:

I placed the elements on the card, deciding as I went along what I would use, as you can see by the final card that I didn't use them all :o)

When they were all glued into place I die cut a sentiment and stuck that in place before painting the whole thing with white Gesso.  (I kept the figures separate and just painted the female with the Gesso)

Once that was all dry I decided I would use Mica Powders to give the card some bling, although I do think that the Inka Gold Silver or Gold would have worked even better especially as you can paint with them too.  I then stuck the figures in place and matted the card together.  Here are a couple of close ups and the final card again.  The Mica's do give a very delicate colouring which for me is just right, I know some of you like more colour and the Inka Gold's will do that for you :o)

Thanks for dropping by to see my post today.  Look forward to seeing you at the class on
7th August.  Love Jan -x-

Inka Gold and Clay Cards.....

Good Morning all,

My word this week has gone quick! We have been so busy since the event day getting the stock levels correct on the website, I just don't know where the time has gone?
There was a lot of items that sold out on my Event Day but there will be new stock in in the next few days, the Inka Gold's being some of them as well as new items of course.....

Hasn't the weather been depressing though, such as shame for the all the children as they have just broke up for summer holidays!!! British summer huh!

Anyway I have been so busy that I have not had time to play more with the Inka Golds since my Event Day ( withdrawal symptom's already, they are so lush! ) so I thought that I would explain to you how I made the make and take cards that the lovely ladies made on the day. So here they are below......

These were all made in the same way using Inka Gold Paints and diluting them with a paint brush and water. I used super smooth card and just chose two colours for each ( Cobalt Blue and Silver for the first one ) and brushed them across the card using one colour first one way and then the other colour on the opposite side brushing it in to the first colour. Repeat this process until they blend in to one another smoothly, they are really easy to paint with and a little goes a long way.....

Allow to dry or heat gun the painted background. Then I chose a stencil (Doodle Crosses for the first one ), I used a piece of Cut'n'dry Foam and sponged the opposite colour to what I had used on the background, so silver on cobalt blue and vice versa to reflect the opposite side.
Then using Black Stazon, I stamped my message Stampendous Cherish Dream and then added a splattered circle stamp from IndigoBlu Ink Splats ( I am really loving this set )....
The embellishment I made using Martha Stewart Air Drying Crafters Clay and the butterfly from the Woodland Silicon Mould Set. When it was thoroughly dry ( 24 hours ) I painted it with Deco Art Black Media Gesso, left to dry and then added some Silver Inka Gold with my finger on to the butterflies and then used Cosmic Shimmer Glue to attach them to the card......

CHERISH DREAM  Inka Gold - Cobalt Blue   Inka Gold - Silver  Stazon Jet Black

The other two cards are made in the same way but here is a list of what I used:

Well I hope that that has inspired you to have a go at painting with the Inka's they are so much fun. Remember you still have time to enter this months Inka Gold Challenge on the blog HERE and win yourself an E-Voucher for £20.00 to spend on my website, we would love to see your makes.....

Well that is all from me for now, until next week....

Big hugs

Inka Gold Leftovers

Good morning, it's Monday again, hope you had a good weekend. The reason for the title is that all the Inka Gold on these cards was left over from other projects - waste not, want not!

The first card began with left over Cobalt Blue mixed with water, I just put a piece of white card on top of the paint, moved around a bit, lifted it off & set it aside to dry.

Later on, I had Lava Red & Champagne Inka Golds, which had dried out on the blending mat, so I reactivated them with water & brushed them randomly over the Cobalt Blue, Lava Red first, then the Champagne.

Sometime later I had leftover Hydrangea IG, so I mixed it with Sweet Poppy white dimension paste & applied them through the Pronty Circles 1 stencil & later again, repeated that step with paste with Champagne IG.

Each time there was a little paste left over & that went to make this card.........

The sentiments on both cards are from the Stampendous Life Words stamp set.

Thanks for visiting the blog today, have a great week.
