Good Morning all,

How are we all today?
I hope that you are all well, unfortunately we have had some sad news again, Paul's dad ( my husband ) passed away a couple of weeks ago, so that's why I have not been around quite so much lately. It is still very much a little raw with loosing my mum just 5 months ago but I am starting to get back on track again and have been playing around with more canvasses and making lots of samples for the class on Friday......

So I thought today that I would show you three more that I made for the last Brushos workshop, I really love playing with all the different colours in the Brushos to see what sort of combinations you can come up with.
I have re-ordered them and they should be back in stock at the class and on the website by Friday this week......

For this first canvas the products that I used were:

IndigoBlu - Rugged edge with Tissue Paper

For this second canvas the products that I used were:

Imagination Crafts - Honeycomb Stencil
Distress Inks - Pistachio

I am very much looking forward to my class with you all on Friday, as you know we are going my New Stamps that I have out with Imagination Crafts and will be working with stencil paint, stencils, stamps and inks as well as embossing......

Limor Webber Stamps & Brusho Colours

Good morning, I hope you all had a great weekend. I've got quite a few samples to show you today, all made with Brusho colours & the Limor Webber stamps for IndigoBlu.............

(We are expecting the reorder of Brusho sets to arrive this coming week. We'll let you know via Facebook & Twitter once they're on the website).

I masked off the centre of a piece of gloss card & used Emerald Green Brusho with lots of water to colour the outside of the circle.............

My original idea was to colour inside the circle too, but once I'd added the Splattered Heart stamp I knew that wasn't necessary...............

I painted the heart with Brilliant Red Brusho, stamped the Limor Circles & Ink Splats with gold ink, heat setting them with gold embossing powder & once I'd put the card together, I added Glossy Accents to the heart.............

The finished card..............

The base for the second card was also gloss card. I sprayed it with water, sprinkled Lemon Brusho on the left hand side & blew..............

I let that dry slightly, then repeated with Cobalt Blue Brusho............

I stamped the Dramatic Eye stamp with Onyx Black Versafine, heat setting with
clear embossing powder, then I used the edge of the 'scratchy' stamp from the Limor Circles set around the border with embossing ink & heat setting that with gold embossing powder. I stamped the Stampendous 'Inspiration Exists...' stamp on to a piece of scrap card.

The finished card..............

When the Brusho crystals & shimmer sprays first arrived, Lisa made this background with two of the shimmer sprays; Shimmer Blue & Shimmer Green..............

(These are just to show you the shimmer, the true colour is the one on the finished project).

I cut a piece down to 20 x 20cm & adhered it to mountboard, backed with black card. I stamped the Dramatic Eye & the Stampendous 'Live Creatively' stamps onto tissue paper, as per this blog post, & used gel medium to attach both pieces. I stamped the eye again onto white card, cut it out & glued it to the tissue paper eye............

I had enough of the shimmer spray card left to make two small cards, so I used the Splattered Heart & the Ink Splat Butterfly stamps, stamping both heart & butterfly onto white card also & cutting them out to glue on top.........

That's it from me for now. There is so much more you can do with Brusho colours & Colourcraft products - we haven't even touched on the fantastic relief pastes - so rest assured, you will be seeing a lot more of them here in the future.

This coming Friday is Class Day in Maidstone, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing everyone. We will be using Lisa's gorgeous new stamps from Imagination Crafts, together with stencils & paint.

The current blog challenge will end on Saturday night, May 2. We've had fab entries so far, but we'd love to see more. The theme is Brusho colours, of course & all the details are HERE.

Have a great week.

Brusho's and Stampendous

Morning all,

Hope you're having a good week, nearly the weekend.
I've been a bit poorly recently but much better now I'm pleased to say and we celebrated my Mum's 90th this week.
I so wanted to be at Lisa's Brusho class but wasn't well enough to attend.
I'll be at the May class so I'm really looking forward to catching up with everyone there.

Anyhow onto my makes for today, I've made three tags using a Brusho background then added a few stamped elements.
I wanted to focus on the background for this project and show you how you can achieve some great results and interest using Brusho's.

I cut my tags from a good quality card stock that will stand up to the water application or you can use watercolour card.
The tag sizes are 8x16cm.

I started by sprinkling a tiny amount of my first Brusho colour, Lemon, into my craft mat, less is more and you can always add more colour!
Then I spritzed this with water, a fine spray is good.

Next I put my tag onto the colour on the mat and pressed it down on different areas to pick up the colour.
You can get some nice effects doing this and decide how much or little you want to apply in this way.

By turning and tilting the tag you can make the colour drip and run if you wish.
Next I blotted onto paper towel.

***TOP TIP***
If you blot into a piece of white card you get the start of another background.
The I dried with my heat tool.

I used my colours from light to dark so I just left the remaining Lemon colour on my mat and added my second darker colour, Orange.
Repeating the same process as before and the drying again.

Lastly I chose a stencil I wanted to use and the added my final darkest colour, Rose Red, to my mat but hardly any water.
For this next process you need to use a sponge to apply the colour through the stencil but the sponge needs to be almost dry otherwise the colour will seep under the stencil.
So to do this I took the colour on my sponge and blotted the sponge onto paper towel or spare card stock before applying through the stencil area.
This stencil was TCW Mini Harlequin.

Again less is more and you will see by pressing the almost dry sponge
how you can add the colour.
I love this technique and it creates such arty interesting backgrounds.
Next I simply stamped the images from the

To finish I spritzed the remains colours on my mat with water and coloured pieces of seam binding for my tags and dried with a heat tool.
The picture below was from the colours used on the next tag pictured below.

You now have a selection of tags for use on cards when you need them.
The interest is created in the super backgrounds using this technique!

Above tag uses Brusho colours, Violet, Sea Green and Lemon with

Above tag uses Brusho colors in Lemon, Lime and Turquoise with the
TCW Coffee Splotch Stencil.

Hope you feel inspired to have a go...

Enjoy your day

Stampendous and IndigoBlu Canvas.....

Good morning all,

It is great to be back with you this week with my Wednesday post and I thought I would show you a canvas that I made using Brushos.....

As you know by now I love these gorgeous little pots of pigment crystals and I am eagerly awaiting more stock arriving soon on the website. I used an 8" x 8" canvas and although they are primed with gesso, I like to give them another coat on top......
I added some turquoise and lime green Brusho crystals on to the canvas once it was dry and then liberally applied water to the canvas using a fine spritz bottle. I then tilted the canvas up vertically and let the intense colour run down the canvas and moved it around until I was happy with it and then let it dry naturally.
I then took my honeycomb stencil available soon (on its way) and my newly acquired Cracked Pistachio Distress ink and inked through the stencil using a blending tool. I then applied Clear Wow Powder over the top and heat set for some texture......

Then using the stamping on tissue technique, I used Versafine Black Onyx and the IndigoBlu Ink Splat Butterfly and Stampendous Cherish Dream stamp. I inked the sentiment up and stamped it on White Tissue Paper and did the same with the Ink Splat Butterfly stamping this twice . I then embossed them all with Clear Wow Embossing Powder. Once they were dry I tore around the edge of them and applied them to my canvas using Decou-page Glue under them and then on top of them. I cut the butterflies in uneven halves as you can see.....

I wanted to put some main focal on to my canvas so I took some watercolour card and again using the same colour Brushos, I added some crystals to my card and then spritzed with water, until the card was covered with colour. I then put it aside to dry naturally......

Next using the Stampendous Pen Pattern Butterlies I stamped two different butterflies on to the coloured card and then heat embossed them and cut them out using the matching Butterflies Die Cut set and my Bigshot. I attached them to my canvas using Cosmic Shimmer Glue and then added some sparkle to the wings with Peacock Stickles Glitter Glue......

I then sat back and looked at it and it needed a couple more bits added to it.....I decided to do some wiggly lines coming from the butterflies and knew that I would not get good coverage using my black fine liner straight on to the canvas so I drew them on the tissue paper and then tore them and decou-paged them on to the canvas.......

I also used some white gesso and a bottle top and piece of card to add some random circles and lines on to the canvas and then I was done. I really enjoyed the journey of making this canvas and loved using the Brushos on it and watching then react. I have made several since and will be sharing them with you soon......

Well that is all from me for now, have a great week peeps and I will be back soon with some more inspiration. I am working on a lot of samples with my brand new stamps at the moment for the next workshop class and will share soon......

Big hugs Lisa B xxx
